๐ Sinclair Calculator
The Sinclair coefficient makes weightlifting performances comparable across every bodyweight class. It converts your total as if you competed in the heaviest category โ a fair way to decide who is strongest pound for pound.
Official IWF coefficients, 2021โ2024 cycle.
How it works
Enter your bodyweight and total (snatch + clean & jerk) and pick your sex. The formula is Sinclair total = total ร 10^(A ยท (logโโ(BW/b))ยฒ). A and b are official IWF constants, reset each Olympic cycle. Athletes in the heaviest class get a coefficient of 1.0; everyone lighter gets a factor above 1.
FAQ
Which Sinclair coefficients does this use?
The official IWF values for the 2021โ2024 cycle. Once the IWF publishes new constants for 2025โ2028, we update them.
Is Sinclair the same as Wilks?
No. Sinclair is the official formula in Olympic weightlifting, while Wilks (and the IPF points) come from powerlifting. They are not interchangeable.
